The Bureau of Standards Big Band
The Bureau of Standards Big Band is a 20-member ensemble that, true to its name, recalls the halcyon days of Ellington at The Cotton Club, Ella at The Savoy, and the Rat Pack at The Sands. Featuring the best of the big band hits from the 1930s through the 1960s, the band shifts easily between your favorites from Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland and contemporary artists like Michael Buble, Natalie Cole and Harry Connick Jr. With charismatic vocalists Matthew Gailey and Tara Williamson, energetic director and trumpeteer James M Gregg, and the sizzle and soul of 17 of the finest musicians in town, The Bureau of Standards seeks to entertain with swingin' music, levity and laughs, stylish stage presence and audience participation. It's a show you can't see anywhere else in town!

12/16/11 - HAPPY HOLIDAYS, NEXT SHOWS!The BOS Big Band had a great 2011 - killer shows, new personnel, new songs, and new fun all made their appearance in the last 12 months! We want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support, and we hope you have a safe and happy holiday season.
Also, I wanted to give you the heads up that we're working on something a little different right now - those of you who know us primarily as a fixture at Tony Starlight's Supperclub & Lounge for the past 4 years will be excited and surprised to see us branching out in 2012 and playing other venues, starting with a potential show (still in the works) at Mississippi Pizza on January 7th! This is a great venue that many of us have played at numerous times in other bands, and it's definitely and more casual atmosphere than Tony's. We're pretty excited to do something new, and offer the opportunity to see a high-energy big band show to those on a budget, those who don't like to make reservations, and those who like to wear a T-shirt and jeans to a show!
Of course, if you prefer our regular dress-up show, we'll be back at Tony Starlight's on 1/27, so make your reservations now!
A quick head's up to remind everyone that our Salute To Sinatra is happening this Friday, October 28th at Tony Starlight's! We'll be joined by very special guest TONY MORETTI, a man who knows Sinatra better than most and has the stage presence to show for it. Click here for more details on this one-time-only event!
