Art Eastwood, trombone

Art was born in Kansas, but during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s his family moved to Oregon. Art was a member of the Portland Symphony (now the Oregon Symphony) from 1950-53, playing under legendary guest conductors such as Igor Stravinsky, Arthur Fiedler, Otto Klemperer and others. Art also has performed in various big bands around the Portland area since the 1950s. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in music education from Lewis & Clark College, and has been a music teacher for 35 years, having retired from the Beaverton schools in 1987. Art is married with two grown children and two granddaughters.
