Don Rohrbacher grew up on the North side of Chicago and began playing trumpet at 13 years of age, and played with his high school band. He spent three years in the Army, playing in the 4th Armored Division Band throughout Germany in many parades and beer festivals. Don continued to play during college in Southern California, but his degree was in Geography. Although he never lost his passion for big band and jazz music, most of his working career has been in sales and required much travel, which made it difficult to keep up his trumpet playing. With a twenty +year hiatus, and a move to the Portland area in 1992, Don began to find more time for playing and joined the Clackamas Community Band and the Lake Oswego Millennium Band. After retiring from his business career, Don obtained his real estate broker's license, as well as refueled his passion for music and performing in local bands. He is currently playing trumpet with the Krebsic Orkestar, which features Balkan Gypsy Music, as well as continuing as lead trumpet for the Clackamas Community Band. Don currently studies with Paul Mazzio. Don has been married for 36 years and has two grown daughters, who live in Portland and San Diego.
