Tommy started playing trumpet in grade school but didn't start taking it seriously until he was in his mid-40's.
Since then, he has studied for several years with Fred Sautter,
principal trumpet for the Oregon Symphony. He also plays in the Bridge City Brass and has played since
2003 in the One-More-Time-Around Marching Band at the Rose Festival.
Tommy's brother is a college band director on the East Coast, giving him the opportunity to play in France, Spain,
Switzerland, Italy, Greece and this year in Mexico City. Tommy married his wife Sally in 1970, and graduated
from Walla Walla College in 1972 with a degree in sociology; they have two college-age children, Libby and Tommy Jr. Tommy is the owner of the
Tommy Wilson Motor Company (tommywilsonmotorco.com) and has played with the B.O.S.B.B. since its inception.
